The Bloomington-Normal Community Land Trust held our monthly Board meeting on 1/13/26. Here are a few highlights:
- We have raised approximately $52,000 as of 1/14/2026, which puts us at over 90% of our FY 2026 goal. We nearly doubled our funds raised from $27,000 in December 2025 to over $50,000 in January 2026. We also received a $2,000 grant from Normal Township for CHIP projects in 2026.
- Our goal is to have $54,000 raised and to identify the first home by the end of March 2026.
- Upcoming Events: (1) Beat the Heat Fundraiser on January 25, 2026 from 4:30 to 6:30pm at the VFW in Bloomington.(Flyer Attached). It is free to attend and our goal for the Competition and Silent Auction is to raise $15,000; (2) Profit-Share with Pizza Ranch Bloomington on Monday, February 23 from 5 to 8 pm.
- Reviewed survey data from our board of directors on Home Search priorities such as location and affordability. These results will impact the formation of the BNCLT Home Acquisition Rubric.
- Scheduled our 2nd Annual Membership Meeting for Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 PM at the Bloomington Public Library Conference Room #3. We will have a Guest Speaker from Grounded Solutions Network: Policy Director Colby Sledge from Nashville, TN. Grounded Solutions Network provides BNCLT will technical assistance, capacity-building and advocacy tools as they serve over 250 community land trusts throughout the U.S. He will share what he is seeing in the CLT movement and policy sphere across the country.
